Lasallian Youth Center of Regalbuto

The Lasallian Youth Center of Regalbuto has been a cornerstone of the local community since 1992, thanks to the commitment of the Lasallian Brothers. From its foundation, the Center has aimed to provide young people with not only Christian and human formation but also opportunities for professional and social growth. Through its many workshops, the Center has contributed to creating jobs and new artisan businesses in ceramics decoration, screen printing, electronics, and handcrafted tile production.
Over the years, in addition to educational and work-related activities, the Center has developed numerous recreational and cultural projects, engaging the community and especially young people. One of its most successful initiatives is the GREST summer program, which mobilizes children and volunteers, many of whom belong to the GEV group, the driving force behind the Center’s volunteer activities.
The Center offers a wide range of programs and activities that span language training, social integration, environmental education, and support for families and people in need. Some of the main initiatives include:
-
Spanish Courses: designed for middle and high school students, with options for either a simple attendance certificate or an official language certification.
-
Italian for Foreigners: a social integration project to promote linguistic and cultural inclusion.
-
Garden Project: an initiative that raises awareness among young people about respecting nature through vegetable cultivation.
-
After-School Program: dedicated support for students needing help with homework.
-
“Born to Read” Program: promotes early reading for children aged 0–6, involving families and volunteers.
-
Cineforum: a weekend film-viewing space, compensating for the closure of the local cinema.
-
Scout Campus: hosting summer and winter camps organized by scout groups.
-
Food Bank and Clothing Donations: initiatives providing concrete support to families in need, distributing food and clothing.
-
Laser Printing Workshop: a craft space for creating items for local markets.
This broad range of activities demonstrates the central role of the Lasallian Youth Center not only as a space for youth development but also as a point of reference for the entire Regalbuto community, fostering solidarity, culture, and growth.
