The Brothers of the Christian Schools are committed to the education and Christian formation of young people, with 16 educational institutions in Italy, ranging from early childhood to secondary education, including boarding schools and residential facilities. Founded in 1682 by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the Brothers provide free education to poor children, in keeping with their vow to teach without charge. De La Salle’s innovative insights—such as the simultaneous teaching method and the use of the vernacular instead of Latin—have had a significant influence on modern pedagogy.
