San Giuseppe College – De Merode Institute, located in Piazza di Spagna, Rome, is a Catholic school run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools since 1850, serving the city of Rome. It is situated in the historic center, yet its student body also includes children from more distant neighborhoods and towns in the province. The Institute offers programs for Primary School, Lower Secondary School, and Classical and Scientific High Schools. The Primary School operates full-time from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and includes English Young Learners, computer labs, journalism, music, and sports. In Lower Secondary School, English is taught intensively, complemented by Science Secondary One, and Spanish is also offered, with the opportunity to obtain DELE certifications. STEM subjects are strongly emphasized, supported by a dedicated classroom, and starting next school year, all classes will include a Mindfulness space to support students’ healthy personal development. Since 2013, the Institute has been a Cambridge International School. Both the Classical and Scientific High School programs offer an international track alongside the traditional curriculum, where students can earn Cambridge IGCSE and A/AS Level certifications, studying various subjects according to English programs with native-speaking teachers. The campus includes a library with 40,000 volumes open in the afternoon, laboratories for Natural Sciences and Chemistry with an attached museum, a Physics classroom with its own museum, a full-sized gym and three smaller multifunctional gyms, three multimedia classrooms, fiber-optic LAN network, all classrooms equipped with Apple TV and interactive whiteboards, a theater-conference center, multiple conference rooms, and a large church. iPads are provided to students on loan, managed by the school. The La Salle School of Grugliasco operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and from 6:00 p.m., sports facilities and certain rooms are also available for local associations and private citizens for training, tournaments, assemblies, conferences, and recreational events. During the summer, to provide additional support to families of both boarding and day students, the school organizes 8 to 9 weeks of the “LaSallEstate” summer camp.
