The La Marmora Institute in Biella hosts both the Primary School and the Lower Secondary School, serving a total of 170 students. The educational community operates “together and in association,” creating a strong partnership between school and family, guided by a spirit of innovation. Various members of the educational community participate in the volunteer association “Friends of La Marmora ODV,” through which numerous initiatives are carried out in support of the Institute. Since September 1, 2023, the Institute has a new Director, Daniela Rosso, while the Director of the Brothers’ Community is now Brother Fernando Venè, joined by Brothers Adriano and Alessandro. The Institute is currently experiencing a renewed momentum, thanks in part to fruitful new collaborations in the local area. The support of the Diocese of Biella, through the Bishop and the Vicar General, is fundamental, as is the relationship with the Municipality of Biella, with which visions and projects are shared. The Piedmont Region is also becoming an important partner, particularly regarding grants and funding. In 2024, the La Marmora Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools will celebrate its 180th anniversary. In collaboration with the association “Friends of the La Marmora Institute” and the Alumni Group, the school is organizing a series of initiatives to commemorate this important milestone. The project includes a variety of cultural, religious, and artistic events throughout the year. Two roundtables will be held with scholars on youth and family topics, offering opportunities for dialogue and discussion on current issues. Liturgical celebrations will be organized to give thanks and entrust the Institute to God’s providence and the protection of its founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. These prayer moments allow the Lasallian community to express its sense of belonging. A commemorative exhibition will be set up at the Spazio Cultura of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Biella, showcasing a chronological and thematic journey that traces the school’s evolution through its most significant themes. Finally, an Open Day and a final concert featuring all the students of the school will be organized to celebrate this special year.
