Pio IX Aventino is rooted in the educational and faith experience of Saint John Baptist de La Salle (Reims 1651 – Rouen 1719), founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Embracing his vision, the Institute seeks to help build—starting from a young age and continuing throughout life—a more just and fraternal world, as a sign of God’s presence and of His Kingdom in human history.

The Pio IX Aventino Institute, located in Rome on Via di Santa Prisca, is a state-recognized Catholic school with a long-standing educational tradition inspired by Lasallian principles. It offers an educational pathway that begins with primary school and extends through upper secondary school, with a strong focus on innovation and quality.

One of its main strengths is the Scientific High School with an Applied Sciences and Biomedical Track, the first of its kind in the Lazio region. This program is designed to prepare students for university studies in the medical and scientific fields, through a curriculum that combines theory and practice. The pathway includes compulsory laboratory activities and collaborations with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Gemelli Polyclinic, providing students with direct experience in biomedical and scientific disciplines. In addition, subjects such as computer science and English are enhanced through innovative methodologies such as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).

The Computer Science course, compulsory for students in the first two years of the Scientific High School and optional in the final three years, aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in computer science and, in particular, to lead them—at the end of the two-year program—to the attainment of the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence).

The Institute also offers programs in educational robotics, drones, and natural sciences, making its educational offer modern and competitive, with special attention to the skills required by the future labor market. The school seeks to nurture students as responsible leaders, well prepared to face academic and professional challenges.
